I need your input regarding a pick up request from a shipper in Ankara.Apparently there is a customer in Ankara who wants to ship to a customer here in New York. The Ankara customer has a broker who will clear the shipment for export but is having trouble with Fedex agreeing to pick up the package.
The email for this customer in Ankara is aacar@tr.net and his name is Ayhan Acar.I do not have a phone number for him however; I only have his email address.
The customer here in NY has asked for our assistance in arranging a pick up.The package would be at the Ankara Esenboga customs for pick up.
Can you please let us know if this is possible or if you need further info, could you email Ayhan for that?We really need your help and do appreciate your support.
Thank you so much
Best Regards

stated that the GSP there wanted them to pay $500 USD to get a shipment cleared.
The shipment was only worth $124.52 USD.Please advise as to why this happened.
Bass Pro is considering not shipping to Turkey anymore because of this problem.

CEVAP:
Dear Thomas,
Based on the above shipment it has been selected during the physical inspection as dutaible and needs to be cleared either trough FedEx external brokerage system or customer selected broker.Clearance in Turkey do have standart costs like terminal fee(ordino),storage fee, brokerage fee, stamp fee,D&T which can exceed the amount of the customs value.
There is no overcome those certain costs which will be charged for every single dutaible selected shipments. On top of Ipek trace update i can only update the below information.
We have a Customer who wants to send Lap Top to Turkey for a Person to Company.

Appreciate if you could check & update whether we can send the above items to TR? If so, what is the documentation required from shipper/consignee to arrange the clearance.
Appreciate your earliest response regarding this & we are waiting for your reply
CEVAP :
Dear Nuwan,
Used or new Lap Tops are subject to regular import process. This means consigneeneeds to select a brokerage service as all dutiable shipments are subject to non FedEx clearance. If shipment comes from B2B there are several authorisations needed like decleration of confirmity, test certificate,ec..if the shipment is not soming from an EU country.
If the shipment is coming from a private person consignee can deal in customs from his self or provide a broker Power of Attorney for customs clearance. Please remind your customer as well that in addition to D&T there wil be some additional charges like terminal fee, storage fee, brokerage fee,etc..in Turkish customs where the costs will come up around 300.00usd to 400.00 usd.
Shipment arrived and held in customs for formal clearance, notification
letter for beeing held in customs has been send via courier to
customer.
We are waiting for customers broker for clearance.

Hello Rita & Eddy
Please find below the change in formal clearance value change for Turkey and communicate the same accordingly.
Change in Turkey Customs Regulations:
Effective October 7, 20009, the non-document value for duties/taxes (formal entry) has increased from EUR 100 to EUR 150.This means under this new threshold, duty is no longer applicable. However, the formal entry may be required for certain low value shipments as well, depending upon the value/weight declared and the physical inspection by the customs.
For personal effects shipments the effective duty/taxes percentage has been increased from 10% to 18% for shipments originating from EU countries and to 20% for all other countries.
2-
Does it mean that ATR will be only required for shipments valued more than 150 EUR?
3-
Formal entrance has been declared as 150 euro which means non dutiable shipments will be cleared trough customs under simplified process without any extra charges. This does not mean that all shipments under 150 euro will process as simplified as a second physical inspection is taken place and officer can select shipments as dutiable.
To avoid the delay on the shipments it is safe to send along with the shipment the ATR-1 as well.
İSTENEN:
Hello colleagues,
I am receiving your calls but unfortunately I cannot listen what you are saying.
Why we need power of attorney if shipper is paying for D/T with accnt 242429680.
We need shipment to be delivered in 1 hr otherwise our customer cannot arrange for the photoshoot anymore!
Thanks to make your best and let me know.
CEVAP:
POA is needed for all dutiable selected shipments even if the shipment is DDP.Shipment can not be cleared within 1 hour as the POA has not been received and without this paperwork we can not start with the clearance. Please note also that Kym de la Roche is not mentionied on the airwaybill so the shipment can only be cleared under the Hotels name.
Best Regards,
İSTENEN:
Please see attached paperwork for shipment tracking number 797787670657 . I see we delivered the docs to the cnee - however if you see the string below the cnee is asking for a "declaration" ? Can you advise what "declaration" is needed for this shipment - also is our provider handling brokerage or is the cnee using their own broker ? Please advise ASAP or if you are not the correct person please forward to the appropriate person . Miltec is a large account for us here and is anxious to grow business in Turkey .
Eser - this is the same shipper I contacted you about last week , your RAISE presentation was very good and I have been actively selling our service in Turkey .
Looking forward to your replies .
CEVAP:
Called and spoked with Ms Gonca and asked the latest status of the clearance,we have been advised that decleration is still needed so far.Electronic equipments and their spare parts are subject to CE declerations and if the country of origin is not EU Country customs is expecting the Decleration of confirmity from the producer Company.
Please advise shipper on above form and let me know if you need addtional assistance.
There is a shipment there in ISTA that I have been emailing about. AWB 9670 6723 3035.I see an update today from A Navdar who has broken down the charges for clearance. This is a $50.00 shipment that is being charged $294.00 to clear??I’m sure the consignee does not want to pay these charges and I suppose you are asking if the shipper is willing to pay them.
I need to know why these charges are so incredibly high. Can you please explain this to me so I can inform this shipper why I need to ask him to pay this?
It is unbelievable and hard to explain this to the shipper without Fedex looking bad.
CEVAP:
Regarding your query below as mentionied shipment is a $ 50.00 usd value but has been selected as dutiable during the physical inspection as government officer decided that the contents was too much for personal use.Yes,the breakdown which has been updated on the trace is corect as their are some fix costs that we are supposed to spend in customs like terminal fee, storage fee, stamp fee,etc...all this costs are fixed and sometimes it is exceeding the customs value of the shipment like on below example.
$294.00 are the return costs which has been updated in the trace,if consignee decides to clear the shipments himself the costs he is supposed to pay is terminal fee, storage fee, samp fee and a fix %10 tax of the customs value. Please let me know if i should call the consignee regarding the customs clearance on above shipment
I'm hoping one of you can help me with this. One of my customers, Hill Corporation # 200480155, recently sent a shipment to Turkey (tr # below.)The customs value was $166.38, but the duty and taxes were $294.00 USD!Can you please let me know a breakdown of what the $294.00 was for? That seems extremely high for duty and taxes--almost double what the order value was.
If the $294.00 was accurate, the customer will not be shipping to Turkey anymore, as it is cost prohibitive.
Please let me know as soon as possible. If you're not the contacts for this, please let me know who in Turkey can provide me with this information.
CEVAP:
Based on the trace i have gone trough $ 294.00 is the total costs for the return of the shipment.Costs in clearing above shipment will be less then the return cost but again it will exceed the customs value of the shipment due to the fact that there is some standart costs which needs to be paid in customs.
Please let me know if you need further information on above issue.
STANDART:
We will do our best for the pre-clearance but can not guarantee in advance about the physical inspection on above shipment.
Please monitor for further scans.
